São Luiz do Purunã is a district in the municipality of Balsa Nova , in the state of Paraná . It has several natural attractions such as lakes, canyons, trails, waterfalls and several other wonders that delight any ecotourism lover.

Picnic in the Canyon
The Purunã Valley – Luxury Cottage offers to you and your family the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor picnic with a breathtaking view on the edge of our Canyon known as the Escarpa Devoniana. Recanto dos Papagaios
Inaugurated in 1969 by the Department of Roads and Roads (DER), Recanto dos Papagaios is on the margins of BR-277, on the border between the municipalities of Palmeira and Balsa Nova. It is an area of vegetation with wide lawns, barbecues and kiosks open to visitors. In addition to several natural pools on the banks of the Rio dos Papagaios, the place guarantees fun for the whole family, as well as a stopping point for ecological hikes made on the São Luiz do Purunã Escarpment.
Serra de São Luiz do Purunã
Surrounded by araucarias and imbuias, the Serra de São Luiz do Purunã is located at an average altitude of 1,050 meters. A place with humid subtropical climate and average temperatures that vary from 12 to 27 degrees throughout the year, making natural attractions such as the canyon, lakes, waterfalls and bucolic corners of unique beauty ideal for rest and leisure in any season.
Estrada da Faxina
In the territory of Balsa Nova, Estrada da Faxina guarantees a walk through closed forest, with total contact with nature. In a 15 km route between Campo Largo and São Luiz do Purunã, its entrance through BR-277, close to the Itambé Cement Industry, guarantees a visit to the Faxina Church, in addition to passing through the source of the beautiful Açungui River. An experience of total contact with nature, to breathe fresh air and enjoy a very pleasant look.
Rancho Ventania
Located approximately 550m away from the Valley Purunã - Flats Recreation. There you will find a charming Ranch with horses for 1 hour horseback rides (call ahead to make your reservation) and meals for the whole family. Rancho Ventania is also a great option for walking with the family, breathing and enjoying the sunset. On Friday evenings it offers soups and a varied Italian menu (risottos and / or pasta), on Saturdays at night delicious pizzas, with artisanal pasta and unusual flavors such as pine nut pizza ; and on Sundays for lunch a delicious buffet of homemade food, served per person, with various salads, cold and hot dishes with great care and flavor.

Colônia Witmarsum
Located approximately 17 km from Vale do Purunã
Colônia Witmarsum is a district inhabited mainly by German immigrants in the city of Palmeira, in the Campos Gerais region in the State of Paraná. Visiting Colônia Witmarsum is like going back in time. The Germanic traces in the architecture and customs of this small community make the visitor feel as if they were in Europe.

Panelão Waterfall
Located approximately 17 Km from Vale do Purunã. Panelão Waterfall is a natural resort that has been attracting tourists for years. It got its name because of its large water well. The property is in a private area and admission depends on the river and weather conditions.

Buraco do Padre Nature Park
Buraco do Padre Nature Park is a private property within a Full Protection Conservation Unit: Campos Gerais National Park.
Situated only 70 km away from Vale do Purunã, in Ponta Grossa, Buraco do Padre is one of the most stunning natural monuments in the world: a 30-meter-high waterfall which flows into a rocky amphitheater (cave) and forms a small sandy-bottomed lake.
Entering the cave is a distinguishing feature of the park: an easy and well signposted trail only 880m long, with wooden walkways that guarantee access for visitors of all ages and motor abilities.

Mariquinha Waterfall
Mariquinha Waterfall is a private property which is also part of the Full Protection Conservation Unit: Campos Gerais National Park.
Located approximately 50 km away from Vale do Purunã, besides being one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region, it has camping sites, trails, chalets, a snack bar and all the infrastructure to help visitors relax amidst the outstanding local nature.
